Record a proceeding and fix the next date

Step by step: after a hearing, open the case in PocketPeshi, note what happened and the outcome, move the stage if it changed, and fix the next date — in one save.

What this covers

After a case is called and the hearing is over, you record what happened and fix the next date. In PocketPeshi this is one action on the case file, so the diary stays current without a separate note.

Steps

  1. Open the case from Home (it is listed under Today) or from Cases.
  2. On the current hearing, choose Record proceeding.
  3. Set the stage the matter was at for this hearing. If the stage is not in the list, type a label for it.
  4. Choose the outcome — for example adjourned, arguments heard, evidence recorded, order passed, disposed, dismissed, allowed or sine die.
  5. Add notes: what the court said, what was directed, and what you need to prepare for next time.
  6. Fix the next date and, if it changed, the next stage. Add a short purpose for the next hearing (for example “for arguments” or “for evidence”).
  7. Save. The proceeding is now on the case file and the next peshi shows on Home and in the calendar.

If the matter was disposed

Pick the outcome that matches (disposed, dismissed, allowed) and do not fix a further date. The case moves out of your active list. If an appeal, revision or execution follows, open the case later and start a new round — see the litigation stage map.

No signal in the court room

You can still record the proceeding. It is saved on your device and marked pending until the server confirms it, which happens automatically when you are back on data. See working offline in court.

Fixing a mistake

If you recorded the wrong outcome or stage, open the proceeding and edit it. Rescheduling a date that has not happened yet is a separate edit on the hearing itself, so the recorded history is not disturbed.
